knitting = therapy.

It has been a rough few days — and at this point, the car window feels like the least of it. Yesterday I said goodbye to an incredibly strong woman who taught me how to do things I never thought I’d learn. (Sheep butchering? check.)
This morning, I gave myself an uninterrupted hour of this:

Work and [...]

Thank you for all of your kind comments regarding the carnage my Sunday Market Shawl suffered last week. I did a little bit of pouting, but ultimately decided to look through my stash and begin again. I’m using Dream in Color Smooshy in Visual Purple. Here’s what I’ve got so far:

Also, I have a new [...]

This guy:

Saw this, a bee-yoo-ti-ful Sunday Market Shawl, blocking:

and, in the middle of the night, decided to do something like this:

A few more pictures of the carnage:

I stayed up REALLY late trying to finish this for a dear friend’s birthday — unraveling the dropped stitches took forever. This is beyond repair — or at least [...]

Question: What do you get when you combine a cross country airplane trek with a yarn pirate knitting project?
Answer: Nutkin mitt #2, and just in time. While it was close to 80 degrees yesterday, today’s high is around 50 and the forecast is for rain. Perfect nutkin mitt wearing weather, if I do say so [...]

I’m home after a long overdue trip to see a dear friend. (No knitting to share this evening. Patience!) While much of our time was spent sitting around with family, laughing, eating, playing with small cousins, drinking coffee, and even “working” on laptops at the same table, some venturing beyond the house/yard did occur. Though [...]

Two things:

And

Right.
So, the first picture is Peace Fleece, from kpixie. Over the weekend, while browsing through other people’s queues on Ravelry, I saw 28thirty, by the Zephyr girls, and the pattern and this yarn became an irrational need. In order to get the colorway I wanted (grass roots), I had to purchase a kit for [...]
